Cadbury UK and ITV bought a host of silver screen celebrities together for a number of Christmas ads. The chocolate brand launched a series of short spots that depict classic Christmas moments and all of them were completely improvised by the television stars. Recognisable faces included Keith Lemon, Fearne Cotton, Paddy McGuinness, Phillip Schofield, Christine Bleakley and Stephen Mulhern.

Bulmers showed the drinking public that cider wasn’t just for sunny days with their latest guerrilla-digital campaign, #Livecolourful. The Bulmers brand team worked with street artist group, Knit the City, to create knitwear for its apple trees. The cider brand also encourages its Instagram, Twitter and Facebook communities to share images of their own yarn bombs for a chance to win prizes.

The popularity of chocolate Santas is especially high on the 6th December, or better know in Germany as Nikolaus. That‘s why Ritter Sport installed a vending machine in a central train station with a tempting proposition for pedestrians passing by: „Santa Exchange Vending Machine“ was written over the mysterious smoke-emtting machine, which looked, from the outside, like an automated return machine for recyclable bottles. Whoever inserted their chocolate Santa received a sweet little surprise, courtesy of Ritter Sport.

The famous whiskey brand has been bringing people together since 1866 and this year they decided to take it to the next level. To give a few Australian expats the special chance to see loved ones from far away, the brand used cutting edge, real-time holographic technology to beam them into an Australian bar to share a drink and a catch up. The fans were over the moon to see their loved ones - but even more so when they discovered what came next.

CHRISTMAS IS A TIME FOR CARING

The £1m retailer’s ad tells the story of a young boy, Sam, and his feathered friend, Monty, playing Lego, going sledding, visiting a park and bouncing on a trampoline together. Monty is lonely though. And the young boy realises he needs a lady penguin to love. John Lewis has managed to delight the UK with another stellar Christmas ad, which has racked up over 20 million views.
