
Unilever-owned brand Knorr is testing new beacon technology, by teaming up with the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet. At a food truck where visitors sampled new Knorr soups, iBeacons recognized the already installed Aftonbladet app and were able to retarget the visitors with a mobile ad the next time the visitor used the app. Focusing on brand-building, the ads remind the consumers about Knorr products and give them an incentive in the form of vouchers.
